Shanan Danley

Program Coordinator for Students Overcoming Adversity and Recidivism

Born and raised in Chicago, Shanan Danley is the current Program Coordinator for Students Overcoming Adversity and Recidivism (SOAR) at Solano Community College.   He has worked to expand this program which provides mentorship, case management, and support for formerly incarcerated, foster youth, unhoused, and other vulnerable students.  A U.S. Army combat veteran and distinguished Army Ranger, Danley is a founding member of the community organization, Undivided, and serves on the Rising Scholars Advisory Board, Bay Area Systems-Impacted Consortium, among others.  Danley serves as Co-Advisor to the African American Male Education Network and Development Black Falcons Chapter at Solano College.  He is a strong advocate for equity and anti-racism in our educational systems and community.  Currently, working toward his bachelor’s degree in business and law, Mr. Danley aspires to work in higher education.
