CRAFT Connect: Engaging families in recovery of their loved one from substance use and or mental health disorders.

Family engagement and involvement can be a key to recovery for individuals with these conditions. Well supported scientific evidence shows that when practitioners, people in recovery and their families work collaboratively clinical outcomes and quality of life often improve. This workshop includes an overview of the importance of families in recovery, an introduction to models of engagement including the peer-to-peer CRAFT Connect experience that can be immediately incorporated into their practice

Learning Objectives
Objective #1: Participants will understand why CSO engagement and involvement offers a promising pathway toward better-quality health care, more-efficient care, and improved population health for those with behavioral health disorders.

Objective #2: Participants will be able to develop a collaborative family engagement strategy that ensures their programs, services, facilities and activities are responsive and supportive of CSO’s engagement and the CSOs loved one’s needs, preferences and goals.

Objective #3: Participants will be able to implement CRAFT Connect, a promising combination of Evidence Based Practices from the mental health and substance use disorder fields that helps CSOs identify and capitalize on opportunities to bring about intentional, incremental changes supporting their loved one’s recovery.
